Late Bloomer follows Sloane Williams, who while planning her baby sister’s wedding, learns that she’s been dubbed the family spinster. But Sloane’s been a victim of eldest daughter syndrome.
This declaration by her family sends shockwaves through Sloane’s system. Since her dad died, it’s been up to her to help care for her little sisters. Instead of pursuing her own dreams, she became a paralegal to help pay the bills. So it’s not here fault - there’s never been time for boys or dating. So what if she’s never had a boyfriend, never kissed a boy and only vaguely remembers holding hands with Peter Delgado on 3rd grade field trip.
But now, at 32, she looks around and sees what her life has become. It’s about everyone else and not herself. Even her mother has been making not so subtle hints about them buying a house together because “Sloane dear, you’ll never be able to afford one on your own and I don’t want you lonely.” So in true eldest daughter fashion, Sloane decides it’s time to problem solve.
With the help of her best friend Rochelle, we watch as Sloane bumbles her way through those big coming of age moments - First kiss. First bad but he’s hot and has a troubled past boyfriend. First love and first heart break. While most of us do this at 16, Sloane is experiencing it all at 32.
